On more than one occasion, a Dachshund has made me question the nature of reality. (Dynamism of a Dog on a Leash by Giacomo Balla)
I am asking a question, and I do not know the answer.
Occasionally in my life/ work, strong events of coincidence seem to indicate (to me) that I am on the “right path”, or something…
When it comes up, I always considered sensations of serendipity to mean that the universe/God is letting me know I’m on the right path. However, I never act on the (perceived) message. I simply think to myself, “ah, a little wink from the universe, I must be doing something right…”
But should I do more? What is your experience like? Is this “wink” an invitation to change reality with will through action?
For example, this incident occurred today:
I went to a rained-out flea market event. I go to the flea market for art supplies. There was barely anyone in attendance. I decided to check one last vendor. We started to speak. She was a woman who drove from very far away to an (unfortunately) crap event. She mentioned she worked for a famous artist: Cai Guo-Qiang. The guy who makes art with fireworks, and the subject of a popular Netflix documentary.
The young woman’s name was Hsiu-man Lin. She is an archivist and a bookbinder. She makes wonderful handmade books. The collection of items she was selling were very well curated and interesting. I purchased two Taiwanese headache medicine pouches from her for collage making.

After speaking with her I rushed out to meet my father in the car. As I dipped, I ran into a woman with a black and tan Dachshund. We briefly spoke about the dog.
My dad and I immediately went home. Upon arrival my daughter had her Black and Tan stuffed dachshund dog with her. The toy is from the Albright- Knox art gallery. There is a famous painting with a wiener dog in it in the gallery’s collection.
Once again, a wink/ nod from the universe.
